I for one will admit I don’t watch hockey if at all but when the playoffs come around, it usually causes me to take a look and there is nothing more exciting than overtime in a playoff game. Who knows what bounce or break one team will get to score that winning goal. Who knows how long you will be sitting there watching the overtime. Some overtimes last 10 minutes and some have gone to six overtimes. There is just something about it that is interesting and as many have noticed, ESPN doesn’t care much about hockey since they don’t have the rights to it so it is up to the fans out there to watch on their own time without really knowing who is playing when if they get stuck on ESPN. However, all the games are on TV now with NBC, CNBC, NBC Sports Network and the NHL Network so fans can watch any game they want. That’s a plus for a sport that needs all the help they can get. Maybe when the playoffs get closer to the finals, maybe we will hear more in the mainstream media about it but until then, let’s enjoy as many overtime games as we can.
